TURBT (Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat bladder tumors or bladder cancer. It is the first-line treatment for visible tumors in the urinary bladder and helps in both removing the tumor and determining the stage and grade of cancer.

What is TURBT?

In TURBT, a specialized instrument called a resectoscope is passed through the urethra into the bladder. Using this tool, the surgeon carefully removes the bladder tumor without making any external cuts. The removed tissue is then sent for biopsy and pathological examination to guide further treatment.

When is TURBT Recommended?
