TESA (Testicular Epididymal Sperm Aspiration) is a simple and effective surgical sperm retrieval procedure for men who are unable to produce sperm in their semen due to blockages or very low sperm production. In this technique, sperm are directly extracted from the testis or epididymis using a fine needle.

It is most commonly used in conjunction with ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) during IVF treatments.

Who Needs TESA?

1. Preparation:

   A thin needle is inserted directly into the testis or epididymis to aspirate fluid containing sperm.

3. Sperm Processing:
   The extracted fluid is examined in the lab. If viable sperm are found, they are processed and preserved for use in ICSI-IVF.

4. Post-Procedure:
   Recovery is quick with minimal discomfort. Patients usually resume normal activities within a day or two.
