Service Overview:
PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy) is an advanced and effective minimally invasive surgical procedure used for the removal of large or complex kidney stones that cannot be treated by medication, shock wave therapy (ESWL), or ureteroscopy.

This procedure is especially suited for patients with large kidney stones, staghorn calculi, or multiple stones in the kidney.

What is PCNL?

In PCNL, a small incision (about 1 cm) is made in the patient’s back to access the kidney directly. Through this small opening, a nephroscope is inserted to locate the stone. The stone is then broken using an ultrasonic or laser device and removed in pieces.

When is PCNL Recommended?
